How we rank

One measure: total yearly cost.

We convert every offer into what you would pay in a year, with your usage: unit rates, standing charges, energy tax, grid fees, VAT and any cashback. The lowest is first.

Prices as the supplier publishes them.

We update tariffs daily from what suppliers themselves publish. Every price shows the date it was taken on. An offer we cannot fully calculate is left out, and we say why.

Dynamic contracts on one market price.

With a dynamic contract you pay the exchange price plus a supplier's markup. Every supplier shows its own expectation of that exchange price, and those expectations differ widely. So we price everyone on the same reference price: the exchange price of the past 30 days (EPEX, day-ahead), weighted by when a standard household uses and feeds back energy (the MFFBAS profile E1A, G1A for gas; a household with solar panels gets its own figure), refreshed nightly and extended to a year. That keeps the amount close to what you pay next month. Only the markup, the feed-in deduction and the fixed costs are the supplier's own. What you really pay follows the market. Next to the estimate we show what the same contract costs on the average exchange price of the past twelve months, on each month's, and the range: the lowest and highest exchange price of every twelve-month window since September 2019. That is history, not a forecast.

Your situation, not the average.

Your postcode sets the grid operator; your meter and usage decide which offers take part.
